Getting ready to swap the tach and speedo on my 70 challeger ralley dash. Will they come out without removing the entire cluster housing? Can I just drop the steering column down and make enough room? TIA
Jess

Yeah, it's hopped up to over 160...

I'd suggest taking the cluster out of the car; some might even suggest that pulling the entire dash is easier (and they're not necessarily wrong).

If you're pulling the cluster:

- lower the steering column
- protect the edges of the rallye dash bezel and top of the steering column with a few layers of masking tape
- remove the light bar
- remove the gauge bezel (removing the reset knobs first)
- you should then see the screws holding the gauge housing into place, along with the press-in fasteners that hold the lens

If you have small hands and/or are really agile, you may be able to swap those two gauges without going further. In any event

- disconnect the speedo cable and wiring to the back of the gauges
- remove the gauge housing
- remove the gauge lens
- it should be self-explanatory as to how the old speedometer and tach come out
- reverse the process

Thanks YYZ, for the reply. I got both changed out this morning. Went pretty much like you said, really wasn't too difficult. My car has air, so I had to drop the ac duct that runs under the steering column before the column itself. Now if it will stop RAINING here, I will test them out! Seems like it has rained every day for the last 3 weeks!
