TTI say these headers fit Indy 440-1s , SRs & stage VI , how come they use the same part # for all there header gaskets? , even the 1 3/4 header has the same part #.
Is there a noticeable difference between the size of ex ports on a stage 6 compared to the 572-13s?
Don't wanna restrict the ex gases with these headers , or worse still they won't seal due to ports bein too big.
TIA.

the tti are a two inch pipe at the flange even if there the step headers
the gaskets for 906 stage 4 to 6 heads are the same
they can be ported to a max wedge exhast port
but these headers are small for a 440-1 heads
if there ported there even bigger

the 572-13 are big ports , I dont know ,the headers migth be too small for you
I have the cnc 440-1 345s at the machine shop and my proparts headers look small

Hey Ari, I have the same 440-1 345cc heads on my low deck and am still trying to decide which headers to buy as the old ones i had are finished... If you think the 2 1/8 TTI step headrs are too small, what are you going to run?? Arnie

602 I use those headers on my 572-13 heads. I do trim the gasket to match the flange so they are not an obstruction to the exhaust gasses. Are they too small for those heads??? They might be but other than custom headers to fit(big bucks)my stock engine bay and chassis there are no other choices. They seem to work pretty well on our car but at 3680 lbs. a smaller diameter header may be a good idea! Mike

We found we needed a 2 inch internal diameter "minimum" on these heads to clear the port, thats 2 1/8 pipe with 1/16 wall tube. 2 1/4 O/D worked well in our application (ported -13's and 572ci) but was still calculated as on the "small side" I think the ideal was a 3 stepped header 2 1/4, 2 3/8 2 1/2 into a 4 1/2 collector. You'll be leaving something on the table with the TTi's cause of the 602 Ci and N2O, imho. BTW Indy does an exhaust gasket for these heads around $20 each http://www.indyheads.com/images/p_pge/price23.pdfPort sizing is listed as 2.200 x 1.820.

Hey Tig , will blame it on the headers if it don't run the #s @ the Pod. Spoke with the tech guy @ TTIs today , he seemed pretty shocked the gasket they supply is pretty much smaller than the ports , he said he supplys these headers on a regular basis for the 572 heads , although the 600 head is a different kettle of fish , he said to chamfer the header flange although there's not enough material to remove out the port. This is a full bodied 68 charger , pretty tight under there with pas steering , ext oiling , brake servo.............those TTIs are a good fit in this type application.

Hi Tig, could you tell what lenth to go on each tube for the 572 starting with 2 1/4-2 3/8-2 1/2 and what lenth for collector for a dragster? I will have to stay with a upswept header.I am still using the 2 1/8 with 4" collector from the 440-1 heads. Thanks

If you've already got the headers, I'd use 'em. You can check for any overlap using the gasket as a template. In the past I've been able to grind a little off the flanges internally to help with the port/pipe transition. An experienced dyno operator once told me about picking up a surprising amount of HP in this area, so imho it's worth doing. Custom headers would obviously be the best but they are big buck's. I'm sure you'll be able to run the numbers (8's?) HTH's Tig
