Might be better to just invest in a Proform Main body.bye the time you ship it get it milled and shipped back you'll be about the same $.The Proform Maind body should flow a bit more CFM.

let me ask, would smaller idle air bleeds be the alternative to drilling holes in the throttle plates?

Von I dont know who milled the one on the 750 thats on my sons 400 as I got this carb in a trade with my brother when I traded some 4.88 gears I had for this 750. But it runs good on his Dart as the 800 DP and 830 anular carb we tried did not run any better and he went back to the 750 as it just works good on his 400. Ron

Von, a hack saw blade costs a dollar and will take you ten minutes to cut it off. it will take longer to package and send

Von, if this carb is for your current combo. If you havent allready I would just remove the flap and the shaft of your 850 and call it good.

That way you can later return it to its orginal state later and sell it if you really want to upgrade. mike

Ive never had to drill the butter fly s , When u drill them out u are just covering up a problem elsewhere .....Going smaller on the air bleeds will make the mixture a little richer ....U can buy a procomp contoured main body for about $60 but then it has to b redrill because the passages are in the wrong places .....

Thanks, that is interesting. I had noticed the proform bodys, but hadnt seen the procomps.

Are the procomp bodys decent enough?

Do the procomp 850 bodys have the same venturi/bore diameter as a 850 Holley?

I took the airhorn off a 750 3310 with a die grinder and a cutoff wheel a few years back. I used a dremel tool to clean it up and make it look nice. Make sure you clean it up thoroughly after "makin' chips".

I'd forget the milling and pick me up one of these. http://www.knfilters.com/Racing/stubstacks.htm seen more than one guy just bolt one one with no ther mods and pick up over a 1/2 tenth. I think they were around $30 or so.

my experience with a stubstack wasn't good at all. they might work with out an air cleaner or a really tall one but for me the car wouldnt pull over 5200 rpm with a 3 inch drop base k&n filter. it seems they are really hit and miss.

I tried a stub stack once, didn't make any difference.

Still have it laying around somewhere, but I have a HP main body now so there isn't any point in using it.
