I am thinking of traveling to this event from NJ (I have family in Valdosta), but I see that S Pro and Pro classes are 1/8 mile, is that true?

the track is a 1/4 mile but some of the races they are having will be 1/8 mile only. I'm gonna run the truck class as it is 1/4 mile but still bracket racing. I want run heads up but none of the races are that but quick 8, well quick 8 is picked from the super pro bracket race. Bth are only 1/8 mile, my truck is set-up for 1/4 mile so I'm not gonna waste my time in super pro.

Class breakdowns are up.
It "appears" that "against the world" may only apply to the Southern Stock/Super Stock Association class scheduled to be there but not on the class breakdown. I asked them about it on their Facebook page.

Mopar Nationals classes/payouts.

SGMP Facebook page.

So I guess if you don't run street, fwd or truck, your stuck with 1/8 mile. My car is set up for 1/4 as well. W/box or without, there isn't a 1/4 mile class to run in if your a true race car. I'll have to think about this, its a long travel for 1/8 mile racing.

I agree I think it is stupid to not have 1/4 mile racing at a 1/4 mile track.

better get use to it, not a lot of 1/4 mile racing going on these days. racing is racing whether 1/4 mile or 1/8th. now if your just trying to go fast I understand.

I saw on motormania tv.com last night some pro mod cars running 3.50's at 217 mph in the 1/8. That is pretty fast.

1.33 60 ft,6.21 at 110.59 in the 1/8, pump gas small block,2950lbs,drag radials,mufflers and driven to track ...

Yea, the go fast part is what makes 1/4 better, plus 1/8 is over so quick, a few seconds and done. I'm going to go regardless, because I like to go as many MOPAR events as I can, plus I'll travel around a see the area a bit, and I do have family that moved there in recent years (they own the La Quinta in Valdosta). My question is: Do I have to use the same equipment (Jacket, pants, helmet, etc)as going 9 sec. in the quarter, since I'm only doing 1/8?

Also, 1/8 mile has not really caught on here in the north east. The 5 tracks that are with in 90 miles or closer to me(Englishtown, Atco, Maple Grove, Cecil and Island) are all 1/4 mile tracks except for jrs and some street show nights. Yea I know island maybe a short 1/4, but not many go there, its' a bit dated.
