Now that we've been populating this section of Moparts for a couple of weeks now, what do you think of Directly Connected? What do you like? What can we improve on? Share your thoughts here!

I think a problem is that not many people know about this section or know what it's about. To be honest, I may check into this section maybe once or twice a week. I'll open a couple threads but generally I don't get past the intro paragraph and click on the link. Some people, like myself, can get lazy clicking on links. I'm not trying to be rude or anything, I'm just trying to give you my viewpoints to help you get more traffic through here.

I love it!! Thank you for the attention to our Mopars.

My drawing readership is how long that stroker build is going to last with stock caps and bolts.

Please don't take this as a bash, I think it applies to many of us low buck guys.

No, no. Great input guys!

Yes, I'm sure people struggle with over-clicking-stimulation and we try to make the tease tantalizing enough to make them want to read the rest of the story. And Moparts has been incredibly generous in providing us this location so I can't complain about it's placement.

We were to run nitrous or a supercharger, then yes I would be concerned with the caps and bolts, but seeing what many have done with similar bottom-ends, we're pretty confident that the bottom end of our stroker motor will hold up. But yes, you have a good point.

Directly connected is awesome. I just went through several of the posts and appreciate the content. This is the stuff I would likely click on elsewhere on the web but it is now conveniently here on moparts for easy access. Like others have said many, like myself may be slow to notice the new section. One, partly due to my poor eyesight and lack of reading skills and the other due to the new moparts update which makes everything look new. But I like it and think others will as well.

Thanks for the support, everyone! We're hoping to get Directly Connected in front of as many eyes as possible online. Obviously, we're at www.directlyconnectedmagazine.com and here at Moparts.com, but we also have a very vibrant Facebook page and even a Twitter feed.

I'm also very interested what kind of content do you think the other Mopar magazines are lacking that we should pursue?

You want my opinion? Young guns, reader's rides, at home garage builds, etc. I haven't looked into too many magazines recently, but from what I remember they all had pretty much the same cars on it. It would always be a high $ build with an aftermarket tubular suspension, crazy customization, all done by a high end shop. Or there's that perfect restoration that everyone has seen so many times for the past 40 years.

There are some cars out there that people have built in their garage that are pretty cool. Go to the handling thread and there are a bunch of low/lower budgeted cars that are being taken to an autocross or road race a couple times a month. Take a road trip in a slant six car. Go on Forabodiesonly and there are a bunch of people with backyard turbo builds (again, more slants but also small blocks) that drive their car and show quite a bit of detail and ingenuity. Lately, the faded paint or "patina" cars have been taking a liking. Everything doesn't need to be about shiny, high horsepower, high budget cars.

All very good suggestions, MuuMuu101. And yes, we're not terribly interested in pouring over the big six-figure cars (although when we do get the chance to photograph one, we can't help but not pass it up). For Directly Connected's projects, you can expect exactly what you mentioned: real home garage tech (like our Wicked Wedge of The South), sweet new parts reviews/installations to improve drivability, with a little true OE-level restoration.

Trucks get very little coverage in Mopar magazines. Dodge was the only manufacturer to put together anything similar to the "Adult Toys" marketing campaign, and, no doubt helped keep the company afloat after the Muscle car era ended up ...and the K-car era started, which we can pass on that era. down

Clicked on link, taken off to some spam opportunity collecting website. Tried again, taken to a site that wanted me to buy the URL.
