A fellow enthusiast sent me this catalog showing those old wrenches. It's dated 1929 and indicates they are water pump packing nut wrenches.

That is RAD! I would use that on my vintage cars...would look cool at a car show to have it hooked up to your classic.

I scored this behemoth...still trying to get all the hooks installed and figured out. It is a rotating display with a light on top, the shade is pretty beat up but it is super cool. :thumb:

socket is a 5/8 says BOG MFG and has BOG MFG on the handle as well it appears that the socket is either stuck on there or isn't removable

Az - thanks for the link...that's a neat ratchet. I've never seen anything like it but in those early days they were really innovating and trying all kinds of ideas. It's interesting which ideas 'stuck' and which ones are forgotten for the most part.
