I checked the pn on my springs, and hope they are correct. convertible 340 4 spd 323 gear. I cant find the codes anywhere to make sure. Is it correct?
Is it really necessary to re-arch them? I was thinking of just wire brushing them and putting them back on, bare steel. I just don't know if springs naturally fatigue.
I plan to run L60 polyglass goodyear in the back, and re-install the day2 air shockes that raise the car in the back (if needed).

called eaton Detroit springs, and they say the only difference between a 43 vs a 44 is the bushing in not present on the 44. But show the same spring construction and arch. I guess GM has the same type of part number like changes (if the bushing is with the spring of not). Does a convertible have a different bushing?
So can someone tell me if the 3400044 is the right spring for a 340 convert? I hate to send them my bottom leaf (which has the pn) to attach to a new spring assembly, if its the wrong pn overall.
They said they definitely are a heavy duty spring. I did enough calls to spring shops, and they said re-arching is a short term fix, they will relax back down to the sag the spring once had.

""They said they definitely are a heavy duty spring.""
Did they give you a spring rate for the 43/44 springs? I have been looking and I can not find the spring rate for my 43's.
Thanks
EDIT: I emailed Eaton and this is their response for the Chrysler 3400043 spring: ""That would be our ML235 spring. It has a rate of 110 lbs.""
