Hey folks, would anyone have any feedback on the cast aluminum B1 tunnel ram intakes that Koffels sold approx 14 years ago? I seen one today and was wondering what it would be worth and how well they worked? This one is brand new and never been assembled still has a solid top (no carb holes). Feedback appreciated.

Heavier than heck. Uglier than dog poop but Tom Hemphill told me they work pretty good. I sold mine as he said the single 4intake works good too

I thought it was just me, it did look ugly. The top plate looked like the carbs would be sitting on a angle, not sideways or straight. I see all the sheetmetal intakes but wonder if a cast Indy or M1 tunnel ram could have the ports opened up to be used on B1 heads? I agree the single B1 intake is probably the way to go, just looking for the cast tunnel ram nostalgia look. May just be easier to build a Indy setup and pass on the b1's.

Thanks now that makes sense to me. I would imagine the throttle linkage would be a thing of beauty as well smile if I proceed with this deal, I think the tunnel ram will become garage art. I can only assume when you cut the holes in the top plate for carbs, you'd use a gasket as a stencil and possibly a milling machine to open the holes?

You will also need the mill to do the gasket surface on the bottom of the runners and the top if you want the top removable. I have one on mine seems to work good but really have nothing to compare it to since I run alcohol injection on the tunnel ram and ran a gas carb on the single 4 intake. I was able to do all the machine work and welding myself. They also need a lot of work in the runners as they are cast straight with little to no taper.
