Whats up fellas. Im thinking of installing coilover and ladder bars on my 74cuda. I was wondering if any of you have done this to a cuda. I got under the car and was wondering what to do with my exhaust. The mufflers are right in front of the rear and the 3'exh turns down right in front of the axles. Dont seem to b enough room for ladder bars to me. Maybe move the mufflers to the rear of the axles? I thaught of mini tubbing it in the future to make room for a wider tire (hopefully a 12'-14' wide tire). I currently run a 275/60 M/T tire. Im not sure what to do yet. So far My best is 11.40 @ 117mph with a 1.66 60ft, which aint bad but you know how it is, always trying to get more. Maybe I should stick with springs and get me some cal-tracs. The only problem is I have to change springs anyway cause I have mysteriously bent my pass side springs right behind the front hanger. So I figured if I had to do that I might as well get ladder bars. So What do yall pros think?

Get the Cal Tracs with the springs and be done with it.It is all bolt on, no welding and they work just as well as ladders. No guessing on the coil overs, shocks and they adjust very easy without the use of a jack.Your car is still stock.

how fast do you REALY want to go? you can get your car into the 10's easy with bolt on parts, 9's & lower are where you are going to have to consider hack, chop & weld jobs. my '71 'cuda did 10.7@127mph on just SS springs & offset hangers & drove well on the street kinda.

Put ladder bars and coil overs now and don't look back Cal Tracks are a compromise, a good compromise for those classes that can't run ladder bars but still a compromise. Have a competent shop install them, unless you can do good quality work yourself and understand what needs to go where to get the set up correct the first time installing them Buy a good quality set of externally adjustable coil overs(double adjustables if you can swing the price now) to start with also. As far as the exhaust reroute it as nesseccary to clear the suspesion. Mine (3 inch)are run down the side under the rocker panels due to the fenderwell headers on the car then, the mufflers are mounted at the rear bumper. The exhaust pipes do help to hide the ladder bars, also
