I have a sumped tank in my car right now and still run all the stock interior with a cage and I am stepping the car up and with my new fuel pump I need a to run a return line and not sure if I should put one in the tank or put a fuel cell in the trunk? I know I will have to take the back seat out and install a fire wall.Any thoughts? I am looking to go from from running 11.80.s to 10.50's

Do you drive it on the street and use the trunk
much, if so stay with the tank you have, if not
I think I'd go with a cell.... JMO

I prefer a tank on an otherwise stock looking car. You can always keep the tank but lose the sending unit. You can have a dual outlet welded into the lower part of the tank and then run an electric pump.

I like the looks of the stock tank, and having the weight lower helps cornering on the street.
Moving the weight of the fuel cell into the trunk can help weight transfer when drag racing

We run a sumped stock tank, it's a CE piece with 2 3/8 npt (-8) outlets that go to a holley Dominator 250 gph fuel pump. We used the original pick up as the return with a tube nut/-6 fitting.
Hope this helps

Hope this helps I kept the stock tank in my street Duster (10:34 ET at 128.6MPH) and used the original pick up hole to have #8 stainless hard line bent and welded so it dumps into the bottom of the tank. I kept the fuel level float assembly so the fuel gauge works I had a round stainless sump weleded into the bottom with a #10 AN nipple as the outlet. The shop that did the return line said that was the only way to get the #10 outlet covered in gasoline all the time was to have a lowered, three inch deep and 4 inch round sump It does work well

The worst thing about the stock tank, is that even with a sump, you still have to keep a lot of gas in it, to keep it from uncovering the pickup at launch. Stock caps, also have a tendency to leak at launch when the tank is full. Just a personal thing, but I just don't like a tank full of fuel in a car at the track. If it is a race only piece, put a 2-3 gallon cell in it and fill it after every run. If you still drive it some, get a little larger one.

Thanks Guys for all the input, no the car is not run on the street it is Race only. One problem I run into just as Monte said, I have to way too much fuel and with no factory harness or gauges working I have no idea on the amount of fuel in the car either. I try to guess a 1/2 gallon a run and after a few weeks I have to drain it and usally end up with way too much in the car. I was thinking about a 5 gallon aluminum tank mounted in the spare tire well along with puting the pump and filter along side of it also.

Here is a pic of the sump we use, we've ran the tank as low as 1/8th full on the gauge with no problems. We generally keep the tank 1/2 full for consistancy and the extra wieght at the rear but the safety aspect of so much fuel (10 us gall?) is always on your mind. Btw some fuel cells come with the option of a level sender which can be hooked up to a autometer gauge.
