so my 92 W150 came factory with a 5.2 Magnum and an NV4500. Great combo, Clutch Master/Slave Cylinder assembly. Bought the hydraulic assembly from Rock Auto, it fit but won't push the slave cylinder rod out enough to disengage the clutch, or even break the plastic breakaway Tabs that come on the rod to hold it in place. Because the NV4500 was not widely used in 1/2 ton trucks in 92, do I need the 3/4 ton hydraulic assembly, or is there air in the pre-bled system that I got? Did Dodge use a different clutch hydraulics assembly for the 4 speed that came in most 92's?

Hey Brian

I have a extra slave cyl if you want to give it a shot.

you could try to bleed it to see if it has air in it.

get a 10 foot ladder and hang the res-cup at the top with the MC hanging down and the slave cyl at the bottom

with the slave removed from the end of line and piston all the way out/ties unhooked, fill the slave thru the hole with fluid. as the cup gravity bleeds the MC/line and is flowing at the bottom end connect the line to the slave cyl.

now stroke the slave piston slowly all the way in/out a couple times to push air all the way up out of the res cup...slowly so it does not blow fluid out every where. you will spill some as it will be over full till it is stroked/bled all the way.

then rehook the straps holding the rod compressed in the slave and install it. then when you stroke the pedal it will break the ties...maybe? mine have not broke but stretched thin. had it out a while back and still has not broke the ties.



got that 650 dbl pumper on the 440 and it rocks
