Will I have driveshaft issues?

I know the tranny is like 6ish inches longer than my 727 set up. Just curious what any of you guys have done, or seen.....

A 46 won't bolt up. Are you considering a non lockup 518 or a lockup 47?

Its a 4X4 and currently has a 46RH in it, or the equivalent in that year, Prolly more like a 518 RH. The truck I bought is a 91 12 valve 2x4 so Ill use engine and tranny, intercooler, lines, fuel system, etc, etc...

Ill have to put a 4X4 overdrive unit behind the tranny which isn't a big deal.

In that case it should be OK, you will probably need to redrill some if not all the crossmember mounting holes. The shaft will need to be shorter so you may want to consider bigger u joints. What rear are going to put in it?

EDIT: You might also change out the O/D guts, except for the output shaft from the diesel trans as it should have better planetaries and possibly more clutches.

The diesel tranny I have has all the guts ill need, just gonna need the case for the OD, as for the rearend and front end, I plan on a 70 rear, and a 60 front, but I don't want to use 8 bolt wheels cause my wheels and tires are new, so I found a company that sells a different knuckle to run the 5 bolt stuff.

I will just make a 70 work with 5 bolt axles at the rear also.

Honestly just throwing this around as I dono If I really want to pull the 440 sixpack that's in the truck out just yet.

The 70 has floaters, I know of no 5 lug hubs and drums for that.

Id just re tube it and use a custom axle and turn the tube down to fit the dana 60 or 8-3/4 end flange. I got a guy that a whole empty housing will fit into shouldn't be a issue.

Plus didn't some 3/4 ton vans have a 5 bolt wheel? I thought they did.
