Has anyone had any luck repairing the threads for the accelerator pump? It's a Holley. Looks like they have been tapped to a 10-32 already. I think Holley makes a kit but it is $70 and i just need to fix one.

I bought a heli-coil kit for a #12-28 to fix the thread. But now I use a High Flow squirter screw for flow.
The existing design might have a groove machined parallel through the threads. This is how the squirter got the fuel. But the heli-coil covered up this groove so I went to a hollow screw.

I think the O.P. might be talking about the screws for the pump not the nozzle.

In theory, there is no difference between theory and practice. In practice, there is.

Unless it's a resto I would just buy a new bowl for about $50 and be done with it.
I really like the new sight glass bowl conversion so you never have to open fuel on a hot engine to set the levels

Yes it is the pump diaphragm cover. This is the middle carb on my 6v intake. I can't find a new Holley 2300 fuel bowl and I really don't want a mismatched carb anyways. I'm wondering if they make a helicoil that fits it.

If the hole is too big already use a keensert, what size are the other screws ?

All four have already been drilled and tapped to 10-32.

I know for a fact you can get Helicoil for 10-32 and for 8-32 as a mater of fact I have one here in my hands for 6-32 You can get the classic kit which will include the tap-drill bit- install tool and some coils. Look on amazon I fond them for under 30$ shipped.

Sounds like he wants to restore the bowl to the original screw size which may not be 10-32 ?

We have helicoils at work down to 0-80 ...

It's a 6pk center carb , they are a little different than a standard duel feed bowl.

Well I was able to get a bottom tap and make some good threads. Looks like whoever originally drilled and tapped for 10-32 screws used a taper or plug tap and didn't cut threads all the way down.

Yes imagine that is possible for the 69 carb , but what aboutthe 70/with ECS and definitely the 71 ? Is there a generic double pumper bowl with the vent ?

Also 70 without ECS,as for the latter,I think that would be a "no" .
