Starting to plan my M37 build. My last one had a 318 NP435 stock transfer case stock axle combo. My questions are around the NP435. I know where i can get one that was bolted behind a slant six 2wd. I think the trans itself is the same no matter what it was behind. But, I don't think the bellhousing or the flywheel will work. Can anyone confirm.

Also, what is the flywheel and clutch size for a small block? Are they all the same? Are tooth counts different?

New build will have newer axles and get me better brakes, gear ratio and tire selection.

Do know that the bell housing and flywheel are different for /6. Flywheel for a SB would a 143T.

If the bell housing is from a 68 and down truck, hydraulic slave cylinder style, then the small block and slant 6 will bolt to it. Also if the trans comes from one of these trucks the input shaft is about 1" longer than the later version.
