I have a 95 1500, 360 auto. The converter clutch has crapped out. It shakes the living he!! out of the truck when it engages. ?. Is there a way to disable it? It is fine other than that and it is not worth putting a converter in it as it is done after this plowing season. Thank you.

The trans connector has three wires, the rear one (orange with a black tracer) is the converter LU.

Sure it is not a mis-fire? I have seen where the LU is blamed and it just apears that way as a mis shows up worse with the load on it. Those trucks suck enough fuel and have enough trans problems you don't want to add to them (cutting the LU wire will make the trans run hotter).

We had it on the scanner for a day. No misfires but it does run a touch lean at speed. At first I thought it was a dead miss and was amplified by the lock up but we ruled that out. I have never seen a lock up issue so bad but the truck does have 318,000 miles so it is entitled.
