me too. I would like to know what shocks front, rear and suspension is under them.

Looked like the Sonoma had Qa1 fronts when they were replacing the spring on one of the episodes.

So only two turbo cars in top 5

IF you were to enter into their top 10 list... Where do you think you would be ranked? You can use your street or race car...

Just to get this rolling.. I think I would slide in to about the #6 position with my N/A big tire Duster..

Pretty impressive if you have enough for Derrick.

The silver unit has a 605 with two kits, unless your running a dragster, i don't think anything is going to run with him that's N/A.

The Sonoma has traction control, and I'm sure he isn't the only one. My brother really wants to go after Derek at some point, he's been invited once to run for the Tulsa guys, but chickened out.

The thing is, they are picking up the pace constantly, all are faster than when the show started.

I love watching it, love talking about it, but honestly, I'm not interested in playing on that scene at all, so I don't even think about that aspect.

So you think you can beat a tube chassis dart with a 632 on two nitrous kits with a na car? That's just the gate keeper.

I know I can

I could get on the list with a single 88mm turbo or 85mm turbo. I'd just have to go to a slick and dump the radials! I only have a little ol smallblock in a big Ol boat!

Sorry to say this but, the only time a mopar will make that top ten list is if they put a 632 big block chevy plus turbos or big shots of nos. The old farm truck is kicking out 1500 HP and can't get on.

You think a BAE, or a P5, or W8, W9, or PSO, B1 -MC or B1-TS with twins......or a Pro Stock style HEMI, or a screw, or roots blown conventional HEMI, or a nitrous Predator, etc., etc......couldn't get on the list???

You think a MOPAR engine isn't capable of 3000+???

It's not all about the power, sure there is a lot of quick mopars at the track, but when you really look at the times, how quick would they be on the street? Look at Lutz, whats he run 6.70 -1/4 mile passes? Got his a$$ handed to him on last weeks show and that is a street driven car

No we are going to run Denton then Hollysprings. I don't think the car will be ready for Georgia. We are making a lot of changes. We have to shave off nearly .2 to be on top.

I have no clue how fast those cars run... on or off the track.. But I do know they have raised the bar this year and will be much faster than last year..

But from an outsider point of view and watching the show from the comforts of my lazyboy, I'd say the top 5 racers are in the 4 second range and the bottom half is probably in the mid 5 to low 6 second range..

With my car geared for the 1/4 mile and having this rank amateur (me) tuning it, I've run 5.80's in practice runs.. and yeah, its on the track and not on the streets, but still with a little practice and a little bit of tuning, I could probably make the sled go down the street once or twice.. So I'm confident I'd be somwhere on the list, maybe not quite as high as 6th.. but somewhere..

In fact, I did offer up the Duster to a racer that was invited on the show when the OKC boys were here in Cali... He wrecked his car during test hits and I offered to let him drive the Duster in its place.. Except he had officially stepped down and gave up his spot..

From the previews it looks like Murder Nova will race Daves S10 this coming week,I think the Nova will beat him!
What do the rest of you think about that race?

I noticed something in the preview for the next episode that makes me think something "not good" happens (uh, happened) w/ the Murder Nova...

Not sure what week it airs, but it was already posted a while back he drove over the rods and oiled the street bad enough the couldn't film anymore that night.

You brought up the notion that the farm truck has 1500 and can't get in......not I. Your initial point included a specific horsepower number, therefore, I concluded......correctly, according to your post, that somehow, a MOPAR style race engine cannot generate the required steam to get on that list.

Is your point now that a race chassis with MOPAR skin cannot be made to function in the same environment that Chevy, or a Ford bodied race chassis can???

I'm well aware of the issues of getting a reasonably high powered vehicle to "work" in a street environment.....from personal experience, so is your 1st post where you disparaged MOPAR powerplants the issue, or your 2nd post about MOPAR sheetmetal the problem for Dodge and Plymouths???

Come clean!!!

I ran some 5.40's with a very mild pump gas type big block NA in a tube chassis type car and I know I wouldn't make it anywhere near what these cars are now capable of. To keep up with these boys you better have a big inch engine, big tire car, and with a power adder so you can set the car up to run and HOOK on the street. Anybody with enough money can go fast on a prepped track but on the street you have to be educated on power management or they would school you real quick.
