Anyone ever used one?
Who makes them?
How did they fit?
What did they cost you?

I'm getting close to the 11.50 range and need to think about adding one to my wife's '68 barracuda fastback but I don't really want to do anything permanent or cut up anything, especially since I just restored the interior a year ago. So I thought I'd look into bolt in options. I've got bold in frame connectors already installed. and I'm going to put cal-tracks on it this winter.

Let me hear your experiences with bolt in kits, please.

Hi Wade,

You might check with Mike Cotton, he has probably used them in his Dusters at one time.

I just made my own. When you order your kit just tell them to send extra 6" X 6" plates and weld one to your bar and bolt the other under your floorpan with 4- 3/8's bolts. Where your rear bars leave the main hoop cut them about 4'' out and put a smaller about 6'' long bar inside and weld it at the bar end and bolt it to the other end with a 3/8" bolt that goes through both. On the side bars get a swing out kit and use half the kit at the tops of both bars and bolt the bottom with 2- 6" X 6" plates.

Thats just what I was going to say as we welded the 6 point bar in my sons Dart but we could have gotten extra plates and bolted it in. I dont feel its as safe as welded but it can be done. Ron

Not as safe and not as rigid. I personally wouldnt put a bolt in bar in. Find a good builder and build it so it can be taken out later if needed.

If the Cuda should get on its top, what would you feel better about, bolts or welds protecting your wife?

Pop for a weld-in one. While I understand your concerns about not wanting to cut things up, if you "use" the rollbar, you've already got bigger concerns than keeping things "original".

Dang Ted.. That cage looks very familiar...

Seriously.. I bought Teds cage and cut it up into a roll bar with swing out door bars.. It looks great inside the car
