Been thinking about changing to a low gear set (2.77 1.57 ) instead of the standard 727 ratio's (2.45 1.45).
Anyone here do this swap? and did you improve et's?
Just trying to find out if it's worth it.
Thanks in advance.

my 60 foots went from 1.44-1.45 to 1.39-1.40 going 10.teens on a footbrake. the launch feels awesome, but dont use a gear lower than 4.10's,2nd gear comes up way too fast and you'll hurt your 60 foot and probably over rev by the time you shift to 2nd.you'll be in the air hitting 2nd gear.

Was all the improvement in the 60ft? did it carry thru to the 1/4 or did you find improvements at other increments?
Must admit, I'm more than tempted to go this route

getting out to the 330 as fast as you can with torque is going to equate to better ET.
i love it but wont use it in a high HP car though. you dont need it.
i think the cars that would see the best gains are slower heavy cars and for a mid to low 10 second car.havent tried it on any 9 second combos yet but this year im going to try it in my hemi belvedere with a totally different combo.car will be in the mid to upper 9's.

We've gone 1.39 60ft, 140 mph and low 9.70's on a few occassions now. Car weighs 3850lb and has 4:10 rear with 30 inch tall slicks, Still think it would work with this?
Oh, btw, fwiw car wheelstands too, though we haven't clicked the 60ft timer with the rears we've been close a couple of times.
Thanks for the reply's

Not to h-jack, but I've often wondered if it would help on a street car. I've got a 69 Bee with a built 383 and am running a 3.54 gear. I Often wondered if running a low gear set would help on the street, ya know, from street light to street light fun, yet still let you cruise nicely down the high-way.

I have run this gearset for years with a 10" and 2.94s in my road car. People can't believe how fast the car is from a 5mph roll. I wouldn't trade it for anything.

Nick at Compu-Flo told me he tried them in his car (mid 9's) and he had trouble hooking it. Might want to give him a call,he is super nice and builds a lot of big block Mopars.
