67HEMI OP super stock 6 Joined: May 2008 Posts: 902 Mopar Lane,Mississippi	I am going to replace the clutch drum in my 727. My car is primarily street driven,weighs 3850,runs low 10's,and has a trans-brake. Should I go with a billet steel,aluminum or a steel sleeved aluminum drum that Mancini sells? Thanks in advance! And no I am not going to switch to a Chevy transmission '33 Plymouth 5 Window Coupe Blown Aluminum HEMI w/bolt ons (under construction) '69 Chrysler 300 Convertible 375 HP 440 '71 Plymouth Duster 360 W/EFI (Wife's Ride) '12 Ram MegaCab Dually 6.7 Cummins

Leigh master L Joined: Jan 2003 Posts: 5,987 Anoka County, MN	I would use this drum Don't forget to check the champher clearance on the rear to front clutch drum, when using this. I usually just buy a new rear retainer, it's easier and cheaper than driving someplace and digging through a bunch of junk to hopefully find the correct type. If you have a friend with a lathe, of course, it's no big deal.

70blackfish master 7 Joined: Jan 2003 Posts: 4,152 SO. CAL.	Billet that A&A makes. you can get it from CRT. after reading another post on aluminum drums, there only for the die hard, they need to be machined after so many runs and put alot of small shavings through the trans.

rebel master Joined: Dec 2006 Posts: 4,647 aotearoa	i went with the TCS steel drum after reading about the failure rpm's of all the different drum combo's. the steel drum was still in 1 piece after it reached failure rpm, more that can be said about the aluminium & ali/steel sleeve versions. buy direct from TCS they're good people to deal with & they're cheaper than dealing with other middle men who want their share of the profit on top.
