I have the chance of a cheap set of Hedman 75340 headers, they are listed for '66 -'70 B bodies. Would they fit a '65 Belvedere? If not why not, all looks pretty much the same as the later cars to me? Wouldn't mind working them a little if I had too...

They might not fit because i think in 66 they moved the engine back 3 inches from wear it was in 65. but if they are cheep enough to you you could always try them anyway. When i had my 65 Plymouth with a 440 i ran some cheep 99 doller 1-3/4 headmans that fit great. but i can not remember the part number off the top of my head.Mopar65

I bought a set of Hedman Elite headers for my 65' Satellite and was fairly happy with the fit, I just ran outside and checked the part # on them and the number said 73038, I would be interested in getting rid of these if your interested, pm me here on Moparts.

Ah, I didn't realise the motor was further forward on the '65's. This one might have been moved back, it has the running gear out of a later car, maybe the K frame has been changed to a later one? Is there an easy way to check if the motor is in the stock location or not?

The 64/65 K positions the engine about 1 3/4" further ahead than the later 67/70 K. So if a later K is being used the engine will be real tight to the firewall. In my case with trying to run kickdown linkage and a heater, the heater core spiggots interfered with the linkage. Also if the later K is used then the transmission crossmember will have to be modified.

Thanks, I'll take a closer look, trans crossmember is not stock, someone fabricated it from scratch....
