With a set of 17's and some skinny tires it should be fine. Local classifieds are usually full of wheels at reasonable prices.
Depends on who's driving it too. Mega-torque and icy road needs the right person behind the wheel.

I have read the auto transmission shifting is really clunky and aggressive, which could make driving on ice sketchy. I drove one these things on a test drive around 7 years ago, but I can't recall how it was for shifting and throttle response. Is it drive by wire? My SRT8 jeep is drive by wire, and its borderline to aggressive for winter driving the way its non linear in its programming.

I have driven a friend of mine's and it drove no different than my 04 5.7.....and with the 150 shot in my 04....he didn't stand a chance....that really bothered him

Agreed. An engineer at a factory I worked had a set of rims with winter tires for his Viper. Albeit it was a line drawn in the sand about what he spent and NO you're not buying a winter beater.
