Looking to install a compressor in my trailer. What are you guys using for compressors. I am thinking of running a smaller unit, mainly just for tires etc. Any pics of installs might be nice.

I bought a small twin tank unit from harbor freight
120v,4.5 gal tank, 125 psi max,5.3 @ 40,4.4 @ 90,
100% duty cycle. I cant remember the price but it
was about $229. I can run small air tools but
have to let it fill back some but for the most stuff
in the trailer it works fine plus its small and fits
in my cabinet out of the way
EDIT
I found the one I got, its a Ingersoll Rand (no pic)

I have a small portable 110 volt five gallon Devillbliss that I use in the trailer and around the house when needed, I bought it used out of a pawn shop years ago so I dion't know if there still avaible new works fine for tires, blowing out a carb. circuit bit it will not run any air tools, so I bought a new 110 volt 1/2 drive electric impact wrench from H.F. It has been work like a red headed step child any time I need it

Keep in mind the wattage requirements of an electric motor---750 watts per motor HP---and about 150% of that for start up. So a 2HP electric motor will require about 2300 watts for starting. It is a hassle to turn everything else off when starting a compressor---especially at night!

heres the one I have.

http://www.eaglecompressor.com/air_compressor_model.php?recordID=197

quiet, fast, and not junk. Paid $150 for it from Snap On. great for tires, blow guns etc...

its nice for blowing the dust/dirt/rubber off the rear of the car that seems to accumulate there because of the rear wing.

I bought a little Coleman verticle 8 gallon to do the roof on the house. Honestly it was for the house project honey. It just looks like it will fit in trailer REALLY nice when I am done with the roof. The neat thing is it looks just like my 2 stage unit in the shop, but a lot smaller. Beep

My dad and I picked this one up at Lowes. Works well, is on wheels, and has a flip up handle so it can be rolled around. 1.5 gal and my 2000 watt compressor runs it without any issues.

I bought one of these Makita compressors and it works great!
They call it portable but you better get a good grip on it when you go to move it!

I am not cheap---but I am tight! I bought a Grainger two piston, oiless pump with intergral 1/2HP motor for $5 at a yard sale(they sell for about $400 new). Mounted it to an air tank, added the pressure switch and presto, I have a compressor that puts out very clean air and doesn't strain the generator.

My son says I squeak when I walk! But I remind him that we need to conserve to afford the Pro Jacks!

I bought a Snap On small compresor that uses the cordless batterires that my Snap On Impact does. It works good to fill tires. It small at light enough to carry to the staging lanes.

Well if I were wanting a small portable you can pick these up they are nice and work well, for those looking for a compressor for the lanes. They put out up to 120 psi and about as portable as they come. Oh yeah they are on sale at RJ race cars for $39.95 too.

When I go to the lanes I pump up my tires before
I leave the trailer(when I'm by myself) or if the
wife or some one is with me I have one of those
jumper battery air compressor things in my golf cart
(cheapo things) but its been running years now, just
to top off the tires if I forgot at the trailer

I have had one of these for a couple of years and really like it. Don't get one of the "oil-less" compressors, extremely loud!

Good Luck,
Bill
