can you remove the oil pan in the truck.Does the motor need to be jacked up?The motor only has 84,000 miles but has a rattle under load which kind of sounds like a diesel.Anyone have one and does it make this noise.Oil pressure is great and it runs great except for this suspicious noise.Also the oil pressure is slow to cone up at cold start.I just changed oil and filter with a puolater gold and mobil 10w40.Any ideas?

Are you sure the noise isn't detonation from the winter blend gas?

A couple years ago the torque converter bolts loosened up on my 89 Ramcharger which made some bad noise and I thought the motor was going south

Ok, lucky guess! I have heard about some valve train noise and oil pressure issues at start up on the v10. But not sure what the problem was... Seems to me it was a pressure relief valve spring that was bad or found broken when removed... Can anyone confirm this?

I checked the oil pressure spring and it was ok.I can hear motor noise until it builds oil pressure.What makes the oil drainback when it sits?I also changed from a Purolator gold filter to a mopar one with no difference.Can I get the oil pan off to check the pickup?

rattle under load.... reminds me of the detonation prob on the v-10 that would usually take out piston 7 or 9. Crossfire on the ignition cables.
