How about low mount alternators and vacuum pumps. And why the pump you have works best. This will be a 540ci nitrous motor(probably a 350 shot).

NO you need to take a crankcase vacuum reading. So mine is plumed to read vac at the back of the drivers side valve cover. If you take the reading in the intake you are reading engine vacuum, which has nothing to do with a vacuum pump. You need to measure crankcase vacuum.

I hook the vac gauge to the valley pan. The relief is built into the pump. Not sure how much truth there is to this but they claim with the relief in a valve cover it could draw dirt into the motor. It can also cause a draft and pull more oil. With the relief built in the pump the motor only see's what it needs to achieve the vac you want to pull. With the relief in the VC, the motor sees all the vac the pump can pull with a cool draft blowing thruogh the motor.

Yes there is a shear plate under my carb, as well as a spacer to make a smoother transition to the manifold. Gonna leave it on til I get it all sorted out but the Throttle stop will be going on by Feb I reckon.

wedge, i would say thats definitely what it is.

i run a DMI low mount because i dont have any more room on the motor plate to mount the alt.
