Anybody have an idea of the exhaust port height difference between an 440 block with standard type heads/ Eddie RPM vs. a 400 block with raised exhaust port Indy 440-1 heads?

I believe that the 400 is 3/4 inch less deck height than a 440, how much higher is the Indy heads than the Eddie?

Thanks in Advance
JN

rb block deck heighth is around 10.72. b block around 9.98. i have measured the difference in exhaust port heighth, indy sr vs mopar 906, years ago. if i remember correctly the indy port is around 3/8" higher than the 906.

Thanks. My issue is header fitment, If an RB block with standard heads would be similiar to and 400 block with the Indy 440-1 heads, in regards to port location. I have a very tight fit with an RB and Eddy heads. Basically being cheap and lazy, and trying to figure a way around building another set of headers, while upgrading heads. I dont have short block yet, so looking at going either way, I'd go low deck with Indy if that would work.

Indy SR/440-1 heads have an exhaust port that's not only raised about 3/4" higher than stock, they're also spread out wider than the stock location, too. An 440-1 on a low block probably puts the exhaust port location pretty close to a standard-type head on an RB block.
