You can catch him in early morning by phone usually (Eastern Time). The best way to be hassle free is just order online and it arrives a few days later.

I'm looking for the crank shaft damper bolt for my 440 engine. Thoughts?

Once you attach the crankshaft pulley, won't the dampener bolt head be completely out of sight? For bolts that are unseen, I say cheat and use a non Mopar.

This photo is a 340, not a 440, but it's impossible to see the crank bolt without a long handled mirror and flashlight. Maybe not even with mirror and light.

Understood. Post your questions, and I'll bet the forum will help.

I'll be pulling my crank bolt soon, and then I'll know the full details. It's a 340 but may be the same as BB.

I'm being told the crankshaft damper bolt that AMK is currently offering with the triangle on the bolt head is not correct. Attached is a photo of the crankshaft damper bolt from my father's 1970 Dodge Coronet R/T (440). It's a little tough to make it out, since the bolt head still retains some paint and it was exposed to elements for the first 10-years of it's like. Does anyone re-manufacturer the LE bolt.

What AMK offers is on page 198 here:

http://www.amkproducts.com/Catalog_PDF/196-201.pdf

Says C-8204 crankshaft damper for 383/440 and C-8059 crankshaft damper for SB & 426 Hemi, includes 1 hex bolt and 1 flat washer, 1964-1974, $8 each, with no description of size nor head markings.

So now we know 383 and 440 are the same and SB and 426 are the same, and, as posted, the C-8204 has a triangle on the head and not an LE.

As mentioned above, the bolt might have the correct head marking only for certain models, years, or plants and not others. If you just want the right size, thread, and material spec, these bolts should work.

Minimum order is $30.
