Just got a second 71 truck.kind of a smurf blue color.wondering where to find paint codes . not on door jamb tag. Is the build sheet the only place? Did trucks get build sheets, and if so, where were the common locations?

I have owned a couple dozen Sweptline trucks and have never seen a broadcast sheet. Here is Color Code website...

Yeah,looked those up last night,but they all show a 4 or 5 digit code under the heading of Chrysler code,which is definitely not what I'm looking for. If I can't find out where the code actually is on the truck ,all the chip charts are useless.

There is no code on the truck. Only the build sheet will tell you the color. There aren't many colors to choose from so find one from the chart that matches your truck.

OK,that being said,anyone ever find a build sheet anywhere in these trucks?

We found a broadcast sheet in the upper a-arm of a 79 Lil Red once!

I swear this truck looks like petty blue to me.how did body shops find paint codes for these 40 years ago?

40 years ago they just used the factory paint chip charts, and would then mix and test to get the correct match.

At least thats whaat my friends dad, an old school bodyman, explained to me when I was trying to find codes on my 66 Dodge truck.
