With all of the buzz about turbo’s right now, I am at a point where I’m seriously looking at producing turbo “kits” for mopars. The idea is that these will be SIMPLE blow through carb bolt on kits with everything you need from cylinder head to carb hat.
The idea will mainly be focused on the 500~700hp small block crowd, as the motors and cars plentiful, small turbos are lower cost to feed smaller motors, and many production manifolds are easy to come by. I believe I have a plan to eliminate any need for cutting/welding, and bolt right up. Kits would be for A, B, and E bodies, and AT LEAST priced competitively with equivalent HP centrifugal supercharger kits (if not better).
What do you guys think? Any interest?

Kits would be double what I can build a small block one for... so I'm guessing the market isn't there for that.

I think it is a great idea, and will fill a void for sure. Unfortunately my LA/A-body project got put on the back burner after I picked up my Belvedere, and I have the means to set up one myself (just not the time) A couple concerns I might have - mopar guys are cheap - small market (how many guys are buying centrifugal blower kits?) - everyone will want something different (air/air, air/water, Meth), and people are difficult to please - must use purple cam  Good luck with it!

imho, The most valuable thing you have to offer is your knowledge you have gained from actually having done this....
From what I have read, I am assuming you would procure the turbo, blow-off valve, wastegate, carb, used manifolds, oil lines, etc., then manufacture the turbo mounting bracket, piping from the exhaust manifolds to the turbo, the piping from the turbo to the carb, and possibly exhaust piping off the turbo.....and package it together with instructions....
The marketing drawback I see is maybe the guys doing low-buck, low hp small block turbo's.....might be low-buck.....and not be able to spend thousands at a time....so just offering the parts you make, and letting them know where/what else to buy later might be better.
It seems like it would be very low risk to just make a few copies of exactly what you have now, and see what the market thinks.

Good idea, I'm interested.
Just remember, it seldom is as easy as it first seems, this is a very tough crowd to please, and if it was easy, others will soon copy what you have done, cheaper.
Reality check, that half the population is smarter then 50% of the people and it's a constantly contested fact.

I'm interested too. I've been toying with the idea of building a turbo car for the street. I still want to do a diesel though but there isn't a lot to choose from and the Cummins is just too heavy.

Rod are you able to keep any 360 4.25 crank around? I want to sell all my 4 inch stuff and go 4.25 but I don't want to do it if I can't get one when my stuff sells, 4.125 is not worth the effort unless I was starting from scratch.
I am not causing global warming, I am just trying to hold off a impending Ice Age!
