Hey guys I'm looking for some header bolts to stay on the first time. They are for my 1969 340. I'd like to use S.S., chrome molly, etc. Anything that wont rust. 12 point studs, 5/16 diameter would work with 1" long threads but ARP only make 3.8" versions not 5/16" which is what I need. Plus I need the actual thread length to be 1' because I'm using TTI headers with a thick flange.

Id like a locking fastener that's not going to mar my ceramic headers' I like the two below but the star washer on the one will put gauges in the ceramic coating. Where as the Stage 8 to me seem like they may dig into the tubing of the header. I would like to get studs but no one makes the good stainless with the 1" thread length

Anything you can give me is greatly appreciated, Thanks

I am a big fan of the Stage 8 bolts but they told me themselves not to get the stainless because they are susceptible to thread galling.
When I asked why make stainless bolts in the first place?, they said that the demand was high enough not to.
That is why I just use the nickle plated, cheaper too

I went with studs on my 452. haven't had any issues with them.
