I'm curious what you guys think that drive or work on the newer trucks as to whether or not it's worth it to spend the money for the newer ones. I haul a 40 ft car trailer most of the time. My current 3500 has the chip, exhaust, leather, and runs pretty good still with only 130k miles.

So you have a 2004 3500 CTD with one of the best 5.9L engines out there and you use it to pull a 40' trailer. It is nicely equipped with some factory and aftermarket options and only has 130k. I see no reason at all to be seduced into buying a newer rig The newer 6.7L is less efficient than the 5.9L and with new emissions restrictions, more expensive to operate. A new truck like yours is $62K in my area!!!
I would put the money you would spend on a newer truck in the bank. With proper care your 2004 will last another 20 years and 260K.
