Hello. What grease is the modern equivalent to what was used on the wiper linkage? The pivots have this yellowish hard grease, similar to sunroof track lube I would guess.
The motor cam/pivot had a strange grease with an almost red appearance. I thought it was rust at first, but it wasn't. I was thinking white lithium but was not sure if that would be best.
This is for an 68 a-body, if that matters.

Thanks.

iirc I heard something way back recommending the white lithium you mentioned (might have been what Ma used for OE). Just me I dont see a problem with some chassis grease, it'd be thick/viscous so it'd stay in place

I think I put some wheel bearing grease on the shafts before reassembling them. Most of it came off when the shafts were pushed through the housings. Put some Rain-X on the windshield and you won't have to use the wipers much if at all.

Use white lithium, if you have it.
You may also want to drill a very tiny hole in the socket of the bushing to let the air/excess grease escape on assembly.

Thanks for the replies.

The only concern I have about regular bearing grease (petroleum based) is the long term impact on nylon/plastic parts. I am pretty sure lithium grease is ok.
