Hey Gang..
I believe I found the root cause of my starter woes and now broken teeth on my new torque converter, the housing of the 727 isn't true and the starter isn't lining up properly. Is there a source for bare 727 cases? The guts of the tranny are fine..
Cheers,

I'd check the local transmission shops. When I needed a 518 case for mockup on my hot rod I went to the shop down the road and picked up a bare case, tail housing and pan for $50 and they even ran it thru their parts washer for me.

Thanks Guys....
Just dawned on me when I wrote this post, I gave a big block 727 to a friend so he could teach himself 727 rebuilding.. I'll see if he'll "swap" me it back for the small block 727 I have here at the house.... I will also call some shops as well....... Good idea......
