Many years ago when I worked at a furniture store I learned a lot about "sales". We had sales all the time, almost always in fact. The tags had the full retail price at the top of the tag and the sale price below. Usually 20% off or so but it varied 5% one way or the other, the only thing we ever chnged was the tags which had different artwork for the various events (Fathers Day, Holiday, etc. any excuse for a sale). The bottom line is that the items were only off sale for a few days a year and if you missed one they would always allow for the past or upcoming sale price to be applied to a sale. The real bottom line? The REAL price you paid never really varied much and it usually didn't apply to anything that wasn't already in inventory. Looks like some things never change. In the name of moving more goods you can't really blame them tough, people are suckers for "Sales".
