It's not a problem to run 11's with a 360 with 3.23 gears or 11.50's with 408" with 2.3 gears and a 2 barrel carb,it's just not that most can. You answer by posting others results, what have you done!! Whatever!! Thats what I thought!!

Relax, dude.

I'm sorry. I wish to build it for street driving only. A wicked sound and maximum performance. Also has a 3 on the tree with 391 gears.

well, be more specific...what vehicle (how heavy?) is fuel economy a concern? freeway driving? realistically how fast do you want to go? what parts do you already have?

if it were me, and I was interested in some semblance of fuel economy and drivability, I'd probably start with a core magnum 318. if the heads were not cracked, I'd get the heads redone, using GM 3100 valve springs and retainers set up at about 1.65" IH. if the heads were cracked, I'd pick up a set of enginequest 318B's set up like above. I'd reuse the stock crank and rods, and use some KB167 pistons at 0 deck, and .039" compressed gaskets. for a cam, I'd use probably something like the comp XR265HR roller cam, ground on a long-snout cam core to allow the use of a fuel pump eccentric, with the stock mag lifters, pushrods (if possible), and rockers. intake I'd use an RPM air gap, probably the smaller edelbrock thunder AVS, and I'd run headers. for simplicity, I'd use the LA front cover/waterpump setup.

realistically, this should give ~350 very streetable HP and probably close to 400lb-ft of torque and respectable fuel economy.

if you wanted 10-15% more power, I'd do the same build but start with a magnum 360, and use KB107's.
