Chuck.........
Any chance you can post the results of Joe's W5 on the pump after you have it on there? Looking forward to seeing how it does with the new heads on it.

Please tell me that part about it having a Flat Tappet cam is a misprint! Why would someone build an engine with all the rest of the parts listed above, yet not run a roller?

That's pretty stout for pump gas compression and a flat tappet! IMHO That would make a great bracket engine as well. Change oil and plugs and check the lash in the spring and run it!

I like the idea of engine builds being put out here but it would be far more interesting if some of the questions posed here were answered, as it's always nice to hear the professional's perspective on what works and what doesn't and why. Mick

Dwayne, I would never make a pull 2500 under peak Tq. Here is a sheet from 4500 to 5500. It drove real clean from 2500 to 3500 with a 100 lbs on it

And curious about the leaner that normal afr`s......... Bad azz hombre though.
The AF will vary depending on the cam, comp and fuel. Don't be locked in that 12.75 is the best

This is living proof on how much power a pump gas motor can make with decent parts What bore and stroke did you use on this build? It looked like the motor wasn't done making power at 7000 RPM I normally pull the motors until I find peak HP
Cab, not pump gas we ran VP 110 our customer likes the smell of race fuel lol! its 4.500 bore and 4.250 stroke. we did pull it higher and it was at peak at 7000

We didn't need to run a roller to get to our HP goals for our customer. He is a older guy and wanted something that would require min maintance

We have done a lot of testing with spacers, on a cast 4bbl intake bigger is better but those dam hoods keep getting in the way

Do your results vary when using supersuckers and by bigger i assume you mean the 2" ones. From other posts i've read, the feeling seemed to be that head limited motors benefitted more. Mick

Maybe so they don't have to change valve springs as often? Depends how much "street" is in the street/strip.
You got it, low maintenance and more street than strip

Yep the 2" 4 hole work good, gives the fuel more time to turn down the port rather than hit the floor of the Manifold. None of the Mopar Intakes have enough plenum volume
