I just heard a rumour and need to verify. Please respond. Thanks

Text of an e-mail to Bob Kropp about Larry Green

"Jo Ann and I talked about Larry after you all left on Sunday evening. She convinced me to drive up to his apartment in Kent and check it out. The apartment is empty, actually the door was ajar, I pushed it open and did not go inside. It was late and I did not want to disturb the neighbors or get busted by the cops for burglary. I was going to go back this morning and check it out with the manager, but the landlord arrangement is through a leasing company that you contact by e-mail and as far as I can tell there is no resident manager that I can pump for info unless I express an interest in renting an apartment.

So I went to the Moparts.com web site and pulled his birth date (4/22/54) from the records for "340Shorty" and then I found a phone number for King County Death Records (206-897-4551) on the internet. I was able to get the information without paying their usual fee for a "Certified Death Certificate" for all the details. They have a Death Certificate on file for a Larry Green with that birth date that passed in July. If someone were to do a thorough search of King county newspapers there may be an obituary...I understood that he had sister and maybe other relatives, but I have never met them. That is about all the verifying I can do. I wish I had better news."

He was a huge cranky guy that neglected his health for the things he could build or buy for the Mopar hobby, but if you asked him for it he would give you or sell cheaply any of his treasures and was happy to share the knowledge he had acquired. Every time I stopped in he had to tell me of some new ailment, but somehow he kept going...I always thought he was going to be around.

I talked with him in June. He was pending a cardio procedure (stents)

He was picking my brain since I have had several of those put in in the last few years. He was kinda scared but after our talk he seemed ok.

If this is actually true it's too bad he didn't get to see his old RR which I now own.

RIP Larry. Hopefully you'll run into Don Rae

This is terrible. I haven't posted much lately either in this forum and really haven't noticed he wasn't posting. I knew he sold those trucks over health reasons but never knew what was going on for sure other than he was having trouble with his sight. I fell bad.

I feel terrible that I had not kept in touch a little more. Larry was truly one of the nicest guys, he would help you with anything he could! I know his sight got real bad, and that's the only thing that held him back. I am really going to miss having my talks with him, he was a VERY knowledgeable, kind man.

RIP Larry - You will be missed by many!

Man.................Rip

I too wanted that orange truck.......I wish I could of bought it.....always liked it his input on things.

I still got pictures that he sent me on the shifter in his swb. I'm getting ready to take out the 2 wire 518 for an old cast iron 833OD... to put behind my 440 in my RC. I'm wanting to use the same style(70 b-body none console...I do believe) shifter he had.

Sad....

Just had a conversation with him a few months back about truck bucket seats. I know he wanted to sell his trucks and did; did he know something was going on health wise? RIP my friend wish I could of known you better.

Yes he did. They suspected blockages in his cardio vascular system. He was scheduled for an angiogram when I last talked with him. Given the time frame I'm thinking something may of happened during the procedure.

WOW, haven't been here in a few weeks and not much in the past months really. That is sad news. He was a good guy, and nice as pie on the phone with me the one time we talked. I know it hurt him to sell his trucks, Larry, row some gears in the great truck sky for all of us.

Outcast Dodge guy.

I have been gone for a long time and was doing some checking up on Moparts when I came across this about Larry.
It saddens me to hear Larry died and I didn't keep in touch with him. That is a huge regret for me and I did think about him quite a bit.
He did a ton for me and was a huge source of knowledge.
The Larry I knew was really just a big old teddy bear of a guy.
RIP in peace Larry.....

I still think about him every month or so. He is greatly missed here.

every time I open the hood on the stepside I think of Larry when looking at the Holley Street Dominator for the 318 he gave me.

sure do miss talking on the phone with him once a month.
