I thought I'd post some pictures of my 2013 Core Challenger SRT transformation. I ordered the car brand-new from Dan Deary Dodge in Waterloo, Iowa, after putting 200 miles on the car. My son and I wet sanded it and took it apart for paint. The original black paint, which look great from 10 feet, but had the normal amount of orange peel, needed some help. My son, Ben is 28 and owns his own business. Twisted Kreationz. He specializes in custom paint, airbrushing, pinstriping and he also does upholstery. He was painting at the age of two and I knew he was very artistic as a both of our families have a vast artistic and musical background. He is very good with color theory and his customers cars, motorcycles, and projects have made quite a name for himself in this area. One can follow his work as he post most of his new work on his Facebook page. My background includes being a Mopar lover since the 60s. like most of us. My father drove a 62 Dodge dart, 64 Dodge farm truck, and then 1970 Dodge Monaco station wagon to haul the family of 9 around. my first high school car was a 1972 340- 3 speed duster followed by a variety of cars through college and the early years of my married life. Along the way. I was lucky to accumulate various a ,b,e,and c bodies as well as multiple trucks. I also drag race 3 different vehicles and have been blessed to be married for 31 years to a very understanding and supporting wife. Ben custom painted my 2009 Dodge truck and my philosophy is, I only come around once in this life and I'm not afraid to step outside of the box try to improve the looks of an already outstanding product. And besides, if I don't like the final product,we can always redo it. Ha ha. The car will be out at the Mopar nationals this year. Last year, it made a few shows at the end of the season, but the final product wasn't done yet. The car has Mopar performance suspension springs and exhaust added to it, aftermarket rims and tires, aftermarket Barton shifter, MacLeod RST racing clutch, Arrington added Whipple supercharger, upgraded forged pistons, custom interior, house of kolar paint, illumination badging with the hood and quarter panel. This is a power illumination badge, which with the flip of the switch lights up at night. My son is only one of only a handful of people throughout the country that can apply this technology. Also have under hood engine compartment accessories. I would like to add that my son Ben design the scheme, color, upholstery, and performed almost all of the work on the car and I'm very thankful for this. Should be interesting. I had an orange kitchen for 10 years so I am not sure how I feel about your color scheme yet..Hard to tell now, but I usually like one off original ideas and experimenting. You are lucky to have such a talented son.. It is yours so enjoy it however it makes you happy. only live once..

Still don't really know who won....John owns the purple car and I don't know the nice young couple who own the white RT... Brandon and Steve won division. There cars were cleaner but not no where as modified... but if there were no extra pts. earned on House of Kolor one of a kind paint, custom Interior, custom air-brushing, supper charger and more then 3rd.place is what it is...we only drove 700 mi. to get there....

I know some of you like to see other people's projects maybe some unusual projects. My son, Ben who owns Twisted Kreationz has painted everything from auctioned hobby objects for charity to full-blown cars, street rods, rat rods, touring trucks and numerous motorcycles. some have made national publication. His talent includes a very in-depth understanding of color theory and with his artistic talent helps him with his airbrushing, and pinstriping endeavors. His latest project after the nationals includes this 18 footer Rinker boat. the multiple bottles of Paint Huffers metallic flake base followed by design set up, airbrushing and finished with a candy paint job. I think it will stand out on the lake. His game plan is to have the custom interior done by Saturday, so that he can play on the lake in Clear Lake, Iowa

Ben custom painted my 09 Dodge ram back in early 2010. His present project is the Twisted D 100 project. Here's a pic of the truck first with one of my leftovers super bee 383's you, the last pic shows an updated version. Hopefully it should be done for Farmington next spring.

I now have close to 100,000 miles on my own 09 twisted Dodge ram truck that Ben painted back in 09. With some developing rust starting in the wheel wells and a few dings over the years, I decided to have Ben clean up the the truck this winter winter. He's got a small window available as he is waiting for parts for another customer's project. I told him to go ahead and get started as you can see it looks like it's going to be a full makeover with the appropriate bodywork and panels reinstalled and a complete new house of color paint job. For those of you who like to watch a project in motion. I'll keep you up-to-date with progress.

It's that time a year that Ben will custom paint some objects for both our local Cedar Valley hospice house and "big brothers and big sisters" foundations for charity auctions. Unfortunately, most of us have had loved ones that are battling both social and medical conditions, and these foundations truly can be an important part in our everyday lives. If you have the opportunity to participate in these auctions. If possible,please give with your heart.

Over the weekend Ben knocked out a custom painted Harley gas tank lamp that he made for big Brothers big sisters annual fundraising dinner and auction tonight. Should bring a few bucks if not, I'll buy it back. Then plans on doing a couple of custom painted Mopar lamps. He may have them up at Mopar's in the Park and Farmington this year also, he may have his hemi refrigerator done.
