with a 800 hp goal. and looking to run 9.00 with the dart..i did some home work and found a guy buy the name brett miller.even though he is 3000 miles away i sent him my w8 heads.that flowed 338cfm with a 2.15 intake valve.14 days later i had my heads back home. and on the flow bench.please keep in mind all that shipping time.. these heads will flow 395cfm.on any bench with a 2.15 intake valve. we could not believe your eyes i feel like when i meet brett i meet a friend for life . he walk me through this w8 build.. my motor made 823hp at 7700 rpm and and 638lb at 5600rpm. this was at QMP racing here in so.cal. we did not tune on it much. a jet change and a little timing was it. keep in mind this is a 13to1 pump e85 cast intake single carb motor. more could have been found but 800 was the goal.. i want to thank brett AND A BIG THANKS TO BRAD @QMPRACING. and justadart

I would like to add a few notes to this.

A)QMP's dyno is notoriously tight. It would show more power just about anywhere else.

B)Mike at QMP who runs the Dyno is great to work with, and I would feel good about him running the controls on anything I would bring through the door.

C)This was on pump E85 running through a Pro systems SV-1 carb

I have to say I was very impressed with the head work by Brett, and the block work by Brad.

It was a fun day at the dyno for sure, and I am happy Whitedart didn't punch me in the mouth when I started singing "who put the rods out" before the 1st pull

this is a 4,185 bore ross pistons oliver 6.250 rod and a 4in king crank tall deck 9.56 w8 heads, 2.15in 1.60ex zero deck flat top big valve reliefs 13o1 55mm roller 937 keywall 850 wheel.wet sump 420intake opened to 4500 top off with a sv1 burning pump e85. with every pull we would pick up 1or2 hp.it got late so we ended the day with with about 10to20 hp on the table........i think the AFR'S were aroud 11.1 to 11.4 i might have to get in to the oil pan and lower the oil pressure down we seen over 90 psi at WOT. The car will go to chassie shop the end of july so im looking at 2 to 3 months there.

Congratulations my friend, I'm very happy for you. You are now available to put this step behind you and move on. We both know what a long unpleasant process this is. I sure hope I'm the next one to make a post such as this. Again, Very happy for you.

Thanks for the post. Looks like great fun!I really need to get to work on my w-8 project. I just cant seem to get away from work this time of year. Does your car have a glide or torqueflite? Good Luck with it, I'll bet it flies!

From what I've seen here David is that the trend is to go powerglide with these builds although many did run the torque flight in the beginning. I'll be running my 727 for awile, but it appears the writing may be on the wall...
