I think a low first gear would highly benefit the little 318 that could. This would also help cover up for the lack of rear end gear.

Only downside, if you build a big stroker in the futre, the 2.74 first might be too aggressive.

Dustin..... Stop making good suggestions. Your costing me money... Lol

Anyhow, made a deal to buy a nicely done 904 today. I now have the car, a motor for it, and a convertor.
Next, need new ring and pinion and bearing kit to swap to 4.10.
Frame connectors
Driveshaft loop
Driveshaft... 727 to now 904
It may or may not need axles. The rears have 3 inch race/long studs sticking out, so maybe they are aftermarket.

I haven't raced in quite a while, and a 50 mile jaunt this afternoon has me chomping at the bit, but I hope to transform this car to where I can race it here soon, real soon.
I am honestly curious to see what a healthy little pumpgas 318 will run in full street trim out the tips with my tubby carcass behind the wheel.
