Motor is ready to go in. Just finishing up a few things on the firewall to make things easier. Hopeful for next week.

Lastly, a close up on the headlight bucket to show contrast in colors. More updates to come, hopefully when the motor is in.

i've been thinking of doing mine up. what paints did you use, and can you outline the process you did to paint them?

Im sure what I did isn't 100% correct, but it looks good IMO. I used Krylon graphite Textured shimmer #2521 and Krylon Silver Textured shimmer #2522 for the paint. pop the trim off, lightly sanded the grill to get the old paint off as much as I could. Then I gave it a bacth in soapy water and let dry. Used adhesion promoter and them primed it. After primer dried, I sprayed the light argent and black first. I did it this way because I figured it would be easier to mask off than the gilled part. When that dried, masked off said areas, and sprayed the graphite. I went front the back side first to assure coverage without getting the paint too heavy and then moved to the front portion. Like I said, it probably isn't the most accurate, but It will look nice in front of the car.

Started putting the motor in. Had to call it quits early. Too hard to heat the shop when its -15 out and 20mph wind.. Get more done tomorrow.

Sorry havnt posted sooner but the motor and the rest of the driveline is pretty much done. Waiting on the dash cluster to get here and we can wrap up the interior. Still need to bolt on the front clip as well, but everything is moving along nicley.

Btw, the air cleaner lid never got repainted. Had sort of a neat original patina to it so we'll probably leave it

Ya things are moving pretty smoothley! If all goes well, should go from start to finish in little over a year.

I know some people on here are going to get their undies in a bundle, but we had a reproduction tag made since the original tag had gotten lost. Its pretty stinking close to the original and we were not trying to deceive anyone by adding codes.

I've always wanted to make it my side job restoring cars for others, but I have to use my dads shop and he doesn't want to get involved. Im looking to buy a house here this next year and my own shop is defiantly on the agenda, so who knows.
