4.88 dana gear, 14-32 M/T slick stock 1.76 gearset powerglide pump gas 408, 750 holly, app 11.4 comp shift@6400convertor stall 5100 550 solid lift cam with app 275CFM Edelbrock heads 2850 pound duster 6.30-6.40@106mph 1/8 mile best last year 10.06@130mph 1/4 mile Engine is out of guts at 1000ft due to small cam, low cfm numbers, and small carb. Stepping up to better combo this year.

I was running a 4.88, shifting at 8000, trapping at 8200, 14X31 turning 136 mph... I run a 4.56 now running 152mph

Variable will be your converter. However, typically a small block with a 4.86 goin 9.90 is gonna be about 131-134 mph with a 32 inch tall tire at around 7200 give or take 100 rpm. Shorten the tire and obviously the RPM's increase

Well the obvious solution to me is put a 3.55 rear gear in it and have the same 1st and 2nd SLR but also have the ability to hit another gear at the top 
Most guys that run a glide dont play the SLR... they
dont want the hard shot on the line but look for
consistency.. gear has always been top end RPM to me..
if I wanted a better SLR I'd run a lower 1st gear
in the trans

shifted at 7800 crossed the strip around 7000
70 duster full chassis super pro 416 CNC Indybrock heads 727 w/brake
best so far 1.212 60 6.219 in 1/8 at 110.88 9.768 at 137.81 1/4

I might try higher to see how it acts.. my 405 I
trapped at 8200
