I'm building a new engine and trying to decide on heads. Whats the deal with B1 heads with the moved centerline? How about the Indy 572-13 heads?
The B1 with the moved centerline heads are for the bigger bore spacing blocks, not the stock blocks, I think Call Koffels(419-433-4410) and ask them
I wouldn't say they are for the bigger bore spacing blocks. Just for blocks which have bigger bores. I would saying a bore of 4.5 would be prefect for those heads. But they will fit the stock 4.8 boring spacing Chrysler block.

B1 = 2.300" Intake and 1.780" Exhaust B1-MC = 2.400" Intake and 1.780" Exhaust they move the exhaust valve over to fit the bigger intake valve. I believe you need to have a 4.500" bore for the B1-MC

Even though I run 440-1 heads, I have seen so many motors with B1 stuff make more power I recommend them on anything 499 and bigger as long as you are willing to rev it past 7,000 rpm. Obviously the rpm drops with bigger motors, and a 572 with B1 heads might peak below 7200? If you go 4.5 bore then consider the B1Mc, but they are not required, just worth more hp.

Thanks guys. Its going to be a 572, 4.500 bore. I'm leaning torwards the B1MC heads.
If your building a 572, 4.500 bore then the b1-MC are the way to go. Unless you want to move up to the Pred heads. Just depends on the power you want.
