look like it goes too?

Im doing my best to pick up this DODGE truck. I have not checked it over real well and its missing the bed and a door, but the front clip is decent and I cab straighten it up and throw it on a DAKOTA frame.

So here are few pics but that does this extra cab look like it goes too? Just curious. I may tray and grab them both. I am dealing with the son of the owner and am waiting for the owner to get back and see what she wants for it.

The one ton fenders have huge wheel opening. Make sure the doors open and close good as parts for then are a pain to replace.

Check you phone I just texted you a picture of my pick up.

John, I didnt even realize that the one tons were different fenders, doors, ect? This will require a door for the drivers side. I was kinda hoping that that other cab was a Dodge and that it would fit. I was not there long and was not able to crawl through everything to check things out. I hoping its a 100-$200 purchase. At that price I can hang on to it and collect and search. Im starting to get a bit settled here and this summer hope to search around.

Dave the cab and doors are pretty much the same,
the fenders are about 1-1 1/2" wider than the PU trucks
and the wheelwells have a larger opening but you can re do them to make them smaller., In the next few months I am going to do just that, I have a nice cab and plan to use a 93 Dakota chassis and the big truck fenders that I have Ron...

Pickup trucks have 15" wheels and tires. 1 ton and larger trucks have 20" tires and wheels that have a different offset (think dually wheels compared to single wheels) then the pickup wheels. The rear portion of the big truck fenders are also longer then the rear portion of the pickup fenders. Big trucks sit higher off the ground and the running boards attach to the bottom edge of the fenders. The fenders are longer, so the running boards could be lower, to enable easier truck entry.

You can use the big truck fenders as they are, but the are wider and have 4"-5" larger wheel openings then the pickup fenders and might look a bit strange with the smaller Dakota wheels. Then the rear portion of the fenders will probably be sitting on the ground (without even lowering the truck).

Wouldn't have to worry about any tire rub issues with the big truck fenders though.

Gene thanks. I just found my "dodge pickup COLOR HISTORY BOOK" and was going to start looking for answers. If I get this thing it will be at the price I need to be into it. I wont use the frame or old stuff and there really is no bed thats usable, just an old flat bed. I could do a 4X4 on a Dakota on this one an fab a bed and look for a half ton verion for a ROD truck. Does anyone know if that other cab looks to be a dodge?

shouldn't be to hard to find a door for the dodge.

and if you did the truck on a 4x4 dakota chassis
the fenders would probably work out great.

years ago my son RJ put a 46 cab on a ramcharger chassis and he had 36" tires
and he opened the wheelwells up about 3" for better clearence, the extra width of the fenders worked out for him...

the green cab look like a 35-38? chevy/gmc.

here is a 37 chevy and the cab you are looking at
notice the body lines.

Thanks Ron, you are the master on old school. Even if its a chebbie, I can always use it for trading stock with the lesser brand/ minded humanoids.

The one ton has the same fenders as 1/2 ton as they both have 16 inch tires . 1 1/2 ton up have differant fenders . We have 35 of those trucks from 1/2 to 5 ton in the yard to look at and we still use a 1940 one ton tow truck as a daily driver since 1958 with over a million miles on it but she has had a few engines .

Also 1/2, 3/4, and 1 ton runningboards attach to the fenders. On 1 1/2 ton and bigger trucks they dont.
