Parts are on their way next week!!

Cal tracs,
mono springs, stock ride height,

Im in the process of narrowing my rearend currently,

will be about 1 1/4" narrower on each side.

Moser axles,

Mark williams load side cap on the 489 case,

Crush sleeve eliminator,

willwood rotors, hubs, and calipers up front,

still need coil overs, and LCAs and the car will hopefully be a lot more mean on U-Joints

I have heard not to use certain shocks, Should I buy the Calvert shocks, or should I buy something from afco, rancho, Qa1??

Any suggestions

Rancho = Calvert, same shock, different sticker.

Afco, QA1, Strange are probably in the next tier as far as quality and adjustability goes. That of course comes at a price. Anywhere from $150-300+ per shock.

For a mostly street/strip application, the Calvert/Rancho shock is probably your best bang for the buck. I have a set on my car I'll be selling if you're interested, PM me.

Just remember. Sooner or later something is gonna give. If there is one thing i learned turning left on dirt "Tires and shocks make a car work". Trust me buddy. U seen the out dated crap i raced with and it was fairly fast.

I don't know what your goal is but I have QA1's and I'll be switching to afco's at all corners.

Make sure you have TONS of room between the shock body and the housing if it's braced, trust me it doesn't take much to bend shocks.

I PMed ya on the shocks, I do plan on the front end next, so were gonna have to see how my cash flow is so I can afford to buy the coil overs.

Tortion bars are gonna go!

Well, I started today on the housing. I bolted in a 3rd member, tacked the brace up, and in 12 steps I welded it all up. Its 8 degrees outside, so I set the housing and left the center section bolted in and set it outside to slowly cool till tomorrow.

Waiting on a machinist friend of mine to get my dummy bearings done, and then I can pull the pink car on my hoist and trim the housing down, tack it up, set in place, and test fit the wheels and tires before I set it up for solid welds.

with a decent 360 it ran a 13.2 at 106 with a 1.99 60 ft.

Have never ran it with the 408.

408 is an honest 480+ engine.

indy brock heads, 10.8 diamond pistons, 602" solid roller cam, 260ish @50, chuck nuytten 750, K1 crank, Childs track master rods, Harlan rockers, yadda yadda yadda...

3.91 gears and an 833

its a fun car regardless.

You might want to gusset the spring perches. With a stick/CalTracs and some traction you may bend them...ask me how I know!

Thanks, I plan on wrapping them, the A body housing in the car now has wrapped perches. I used 2"x1/4" strap, used a lil heat, tacked the one edge and wrapped the strap around the housing and zipped off the other end and welded solid from there.

I know they sell a special perch that's pre gusseted, but Im a cheap azz...

Hello,

Whats up with the torsion bar dislike? Only reason to lose them is a front end weight and space need.
