What are some tips to easily ID a 518 trans, and be sure of what you are buying?
.vs other Mopar OD transmissions...

A 518/46RH will have the same pan shape as a 727 but with a bloated tailhousing for the OD, a non-electronic unit will have only a 2 or 3 pin electrical connector in the case right behind the shift lever, the electronic 46RE will also have a connector on the tailhousing.

my main concearn is to not get it confused with a different OD trans, like a 500... I guess the 500 would have a 904 type pan? ....
