I am sitting in a hole now thanks to a broken seat spring. it looks like a whole section may be broke out. ( when it broke it flopped out into the rear floor board). can this be repaired? or will i have to find another seat.

is anyone using aftermarket seats in there B body.
if so what are you using.

thanks shane

You will have to replace the spring which means disassembling the seat.

I don't think a weld to a spring will really work very well.

Wow, I asked this same question yesterday in the restoration section. It was suggested to me that they actually can be welded. No matter what the seat has to be disassembled. You would have to disassemble the seat, though. It did not sound as if you could get the spring piece as a new unit. If you do find a source for the spring piece new please contact me.

I would think that all you would have to do is find a good spring from another seat. maybe one that also broke but still has good springs left.
And again you will need to disassemble the seat.
Do you need new covers now would be the time.
probably need new foam as well. This is the rear seat from a 68 b-body the springs should be about the same in a front bench.
