i've been searching all over but still cannot find any reference photos on re-attaching the cruise control unit to my car. i've since replaced the old 318 with a 383... all the reference photos i've found online are for post 69 cruise control units which appear to mount differently. unfortunately the unit was unattached when i purchased the car looks like the previous owner restored it. anyone know where i can find instructions or reference photos? thanks in advance!

1968 and 1969 cruise systems are exactly the same but completely different than 1970

I am not sure if the C body stuff is same or similar to the B body stuff

I installed factory cruise on my '69 Charger. There were 2 dimples on the inner fender indicating where the factory bracket would have been located/bolted. After drilling out the dimples for the bolts, the bracket fit great. Check your inner fenders to see if there are dimples there.

If there are no dimples, this may help. The mounting bracket is the same for 68-70 B bodies (even though the cruise unit itself changed in '70), so any of those cars/pics you can find will be a help.

Feel free to pm or email me if you have any questions about my install (email is in my profile).

I go to several car shows each summer that are 1-3 hours one way, so the cruise is great to have. If I could not have found enough parts and/or not gotten the factory setup to work, I was going to look at an aftermarket install.

As already mentioned, '68 & '69 are the same cruise systems.

Don't have any pics of my car but here are 2 I found and saved for reference before doing mine.

thanks fore the pics folks! i'm starting to get a better idea of where it mounts... thing is it was mounted on the car at one time being that the wiring is there and the cruise turn signal stalk on the column but those holes on the drives side inner fender have never been used???? still have the factory paint over them. problem is the guy i sold my 70 charger to accidentally grabbed my cruise unit and he's out of town. maybe it was added later? hopefully will have some pics for ya soon

The few aftermarket cruise units I have seen do not attach to the speedo cables that way. My guess is that it is off a different year/model. Are there any numbers on the bracket or cruise unit? If you post a pic of the cruise lever it might be a help.

hmm there aren't any numbers on the bracket but on the unit it has 2 sets of patent numbers 3298482 and 3444950 but google only pulled an obscure R. S. MUELLER ETAL SPEED GOVERNOR schematic. i'll get a better shot of the cruise stalk tonight. i'm starting to think i might be better off removing the cruise all together?

I know my Charger pic above wasn't much help - here's a pic from a '68 brochure.

It is definitely not 68-70 vintage. I have seen that style before, am guessing mid 70's.
