Does the Poly 318 share the same transmission bellhousing bolt pattern as the LA 316-360?

The lowest bolt on the drivers side is off. I just did this. There is enough distance between the holes for you to drill a new hole using either the hole in the transmission or the hole in the block. I believe you'll be drilling through the transmission into the engine block flange. I'd suggest drilling it and then tapping the resulting hole in the block flange. The original hole is for a 7/16" bolt, so you drill using the correct drill and then tap for a 7/16" capscrew (bolt).
Then you don't have to worry about spotfacing the block flange for a nut.

This bolt locks the engine and transmission together at the dowel pin and I don't like the idea of leaving it out, especially when the fix is so easy.

If you are using an auto trans the LA style convertor with not fit into the back of the crank. The crank opening is too small

This would be for a manual trans. Have a line on a poly bell and wanted to know if it would fit a 360.

Looks like not to much to make it work.

Possible poly. What year did they stop production?
Guy has a couple 4spds(bellhousing included)and tranfercases. 1 is suppose to be bigblock and the other small. He sounded like a much older gentleman and had no way to send pics si I have to drive about 2hrs to see them. He thinks their late 60s but one is supposedly a married setup. I didnt go into detail with him on them. Thanks

Only the pre-'68 LA 273 had the reduced diameter register.
