Mine is a 2500 HD also. It has the heavier duty front 4500 lb rated front axle. Snow plow prep package with heavier duty front springs, higher amp alternator, trailer/tow package. Larger dia 3500 series brakes. And probably a few other things I am forgetting.

Thanks for the info 6PKRTSE , going to check into thge details, I am new to Dodge trucks, so far my door sticker tells me I have a 5200lb front springs, that's good since it has a dealer installed snowplow.
My front axle is massive too no tags to tell me if its a Dana but it so big I doubt I can break it.

I have one gas tank, bummer on that but it is a large one, about 6 feet long .

How are these trucks on winter weather, I have 245/17's, kind of wide imop for snow wish they were one size narrower like Ford does .

How does one know what type rear differential it has, hoping for a Sure Grip or what ever they call it now a days.

Worm gear steering , I thought Mopar went new age and trucks had rack and pinion.

Lovin my neew Mopar truck so far plates tomorrow aand the maiden voyage...

Should be an American Axle. They did away with the Dana's after 2002.

As far as I know Dodge did away with dual tanks after '93. In the 3rd gen trucks the long beds will have a larger tank than the short beds. I believe it's 26 gallon vs. 34 gallon, or somewhere along those lines.

245's are the smallest tire Dodge uses. My '03 was factory equipped with 265's and I run 285's on it.

Should be a code for it on the tag in the glove box. Should also tell you the gear ratio.

Only on 2wd trucks. I don't think it's possible to run rack and pinion on a solid axle. Be careful if you ever have to replace tie rod ends or drag links. We did this on my brother-in-law's truck and had to buy a complete kit that changed it over to the 2008+ style. They totally redesigned the front drag link, tie rods, and steering stabilizer.

I'm pretty sure it's normally on the inside of the glove box. Haven't seen one behind it yet, but that doesn't mean it couldn't happen.
