What size tires are on the rear??

They look smallish/short. Something like a 275/60R-15 will give it some more height.

This is how my buddies 65 Coronet sits with SS springs on it. I can ask him tomorrow what the part #'s are and where he got them. Ron

Ron, It looks like he's about where IM at now. The passenger side is a tad higher as your friends is in the pic.
The tiers I have on the car now are 295/50/15 but I was thinking about going to a 275/60/15.
IM not sure that is going to have the affect that Im looking for.
Taller tire wont change the look of the wheel in the opening.

You know I forgot but I bought my 3400 lb SS springs from Mancini for my 63 and it sat a bit lower then I thought it would. Here is how it sits after I raised the back about 1" by using different rear shackles and my rear tires are Hoosier 30 x 9's. After I put the shackles on to the height I like I cut them off right at the bottom of the shackle as I hate to see 6 inches of shackle hanging down below the spring in the back of the car. Ron

Ron,

Who did you get the shackle kit from?

It looks as though their is 2 part numbers. one is for 1/2" holes in the shackles and the other is for 7/16" holes but they both come with 1/2" bolts per the manufacturer?

P255/70R15, too bad they are too close to the wheel lip. I'm going to try P235/70's. It sucks because I like the size of these. I might have to try Ron's trick and get a longer shackle. I would like an extra inch or so.

I am not all that familiar with the mancini brackets, but could they be in upside down?

079 brackets are for 64/65 cars according to their web site.

In the MP catalog 079 is for '66-'70, '64-'65 are 080.

Mancini Racing 079 bracket is for '64-'65 Dodge cars so he has the correct brackets. And the brackets only fit on one way unless someone has hacked up the car. So they can't go on upside down.

If the spring is installed in the lower eye bolt hole then it should be stock ride height. Usually the SS springs jack the car up a bunch but there could be something going on that we can't see in the pictures.

I've used those leaf springs a few times going back to 1973 and they always seem close to the stock ride height.
I've got a set on my '64 Savoy and it sits just like yours. If you want more rise, 3800lb springs are a good choice if you don't mind a little more fab work and... choppy ride

4.5", they would be better with 4.75 or 5" but it would be a custom order and I'm just a poor boy. Lol

Nice 65!
Do you have a motor in that?
Any handling issues with your front end up like that?
